VANDYL - BRAND LAUNCH VIDEO

Vandyl is not just a community-driven gaming and entertainment organization... but a movement. A place for gamers, creators, artists, and innovators that find themselves without a sense of home. Vandyl is for the misfit, the outcast, the rogue.

This was the official launch video for the Vandyl brand.

The launch video garnered over 92,000 impressions on Twitter in the first 3 days of its posting.

THE FIRST VANDYL - TRUNKS

Vandyl signed their first professional streamer, Trunks, a New Jersey
Halo player that was known for his insane skill ceiling and his love for anime.
With that information, we wanted to make an animated announcement
video that fit within Trunks “anime” style branding.

CALLING ALL HALO PROS

After we established Vandyl as a Halo specific gaming brand
with the signing of Trunks as the first streamer, we knew that
the brand would need to make a splash in the Halo esports
scene as well. Instead of quietly scouting talent, we took a
different approach: make a high energy video letting the world
know exactly what we were looking for; top talent.

The result of this video was over 250 teams and players, both pro and
amature alike reaching out to Vandyl in the hopes of being signed to the
organizations professional Halo roster.

VANDYL HALO TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT

When Vandyl signed their first professional Halo team, we knew
that we needed to come up with an innovative and unique way to
announce the roster. We found that most professional organizations
settled for gameplay footage, over hype tracks, and some basic
typography animating throughout. We wanted to explore a very
different technique.

At first, we wanted to create a live-action piece but as we began to
storyboard we realized that was likely out of scope. We wanted to
keep with this theme of the main character walking through an
old ruin and eventually came up with the idea to do the piece in
Unreal Engine. After many iterations, trial and error, and a
giant learning curve, we created something pretty special.

on the competition at the HCS Kickoff Major in Raleigh, NC.
